Would you like to visit the beautiful Loire region over the August bank holiday? Would you like the opportunity to stay with a French family for a few days and find out more about life in France? If so read on ……

We would welcome new people to join our exchange visit to Ouzouer-sur-Loire. You don’t have to live in Great Ayton so do share this invitation with friends and family who might be interested. People of all ages either as individuals or families can be accommodated.
The cost for transport is expected to be about £150 for adults and £75 for children. Meals and excursions whilst in Ouzouer are provided by our French hosts at no cost. Highlights will be a trip to the historic town of Bourges and a social evening complete with food, wine and entertainment. There is plenty of opportunity to practice your French but many of the host families do speak some English.
After careful consideration of other travel options, the GATA committee has again decided to organise coach transport for the trip. The coach option is both more flexible and less expensive than train or plane transport. The committee would like to encourage people to travel with the group as we feel it adds to the fun of the holiday and more people using the coach allows us to keep the price down. However the exchange visit is open to those who wish to organise their own transport to Ouzouer. Here is an outline of the coach itinerary.

Depart Great Ayton Thursday 22nd August 2013 early morning
Arrive Ouzouer Thursday 22nd August 2013 evening
Depart Ouzouer Monday 26th August 2013 early morning
Arrive Great Ayton Monday 26th August 2013 evening

If you would like more information or are intending to visit Ouzouer in August (whether by coach or other means) please contact Rowland Robson, John Nicholas or Anita Hufton (contact details below) as soon as possible.

In addition to the exchange visits GATA organises a number of fund raising social events through the year.
